NOTE: APPLICATION SUBMITTED TO OUR WEBSITE http://www.5-cont.com AND OUR ONLY OFFICIAL EMAIL ADDRESS WILL BE ONLY CONSIDERED* SENIOR CONTROL TECHNICIAN* Location: Offshore Job Purpose: Directs, supervises and participates in carrying out the maintenance, repairs, installation and commissioning of electronic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical works associated with all instrumentation and control systems in various operating areas on Das Island. Undertakes duties in full compliance with Company HSE Management System, HSE Regulations, Operating & Maintenance Procedure and the Permit to Work system. (Work covers workshops, crude oil separation, Storex facilities, Flare installations, Boilers, desalination plants, tanker berths and Crude Oil loading pumps). Principal Accountabilities: Directs and supervises the activities of assigned Technicians, Fitters and contractors' personnel in carrying out the installation, commissioning, repair and maintenance of instrumentation, control systems and related equipment. Consults with the Control Supervisor in determining work priorities, allocating work, and ensuring availability of materials, tools and supplies. Participates in the diagnosing of faults, overhauling, repairing, testing and calibrating of instrument installations. Ensures that the work is carried out efficiently and at minimum cost. Ensures adherence to approved safety codes and engineering standards. Leads in the activities associated with ESD system testing, plant shutdowns and the commissioning of new plant. Ensures the correct use and maintenance of workshop facilities and test equipment. Carries out regular appraisals of spare parts availability including estimation of future requirements. Prepares the necessary material requisitions for the Supervisor's approval. Ensures that relevant maintenance records, fault reports, log books, and alarm & trip indexes are kept up-to-date. Reports any discrepancies identified during ESD testing. Ensures subordinates and contractors' personnel's are aware of, and comply with, the Company's safety regulations and procedures. Participates in the Competency Assurance programme. Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor such as completing time sheets, job reports sheets, carrying out on-the-job training of subordinates, including UAE Nationals, checking weekly and monthly workshop fire appliance, preparing reports. Guides, directs and supervises subordinates to ensure they work to their best potential and contribute effectively as a Team. Minimum Requirements: Secondary technical education certificate followed by 2 years formal training leading to a diploma in the repair of instrumentation and control systems or successful completion of required Competency Assessment Programme. 6 years' experience in the repair and maintenance of industrial process control systems, of which at least 2 years should have been at Foreman's level or equivalent. Must be capable of working independently to analyze and rectify faults on complex electronic and pneumatic instrumentation. Good knowledge with regard to hazardous area classification and certified electrical apparatus. Proficient at reading and understanding P & I diagrams, wiring, logic and cause & effect drawings. Possession of UAE valid driving license is an advantage. Proficient in English Language written and verbal communication.
